Welcome to Waterland Football Club’s U-6 Program. The U6 program is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of soccer while having FUN! The program is developmental, meaning the skills instruction and drills are designed for the physical, social, and cognitive level of the U6 player. Teams in this program will face many challenges in the upcoming year. To meet these challenges and enhance the spirit of teamwork, each Travel team is dependent upon their respective teammates and parents. Both are required to fulfill their obligations regarding practice, games, potential fundraisers and other necessary duties involved in the participation of this program. It is unreasonable to expect our players to be fully committed and to take their roles seriously if the parents are not contributing 100% as well.

Our U-8 select team has formed and we are accepting new players wanting to learn soccer at a higher level of play. The U-8 program is one of the best ways to introduce a child to organized sports. The age is considered developmental and this year the team will take part in playing games. We want kids that have courage to learn and are athletic in character.

Our U-10 select team has formed and we are accepting new players wanting to learn soccer at a higher level of play. Ages of 10 are the most critical development years of a soccer player’s career. It is at these ages where the basic fundamental skills of soccer are mastered that allow players to compete and be successful as soccer players at the next level of play and where they develop a true love for the game. This year-round program is designed for players ages of 10 years old who have a higher level of ability, commitment, and interest level in soccer. This program helps prepare players who aspire to meet the future challenge. Waterland football club have prepared a program that recognizes U10 players. This is designed for players of higher standard and commitment level. We will play & train in a quality environment throughout the winter, spring and summer.

The goal has always been to increase the enjoyment of the game and to shift the focus away from a results-driven philosophy. We want a soccer culture that thrives and creates joy and long term engagement – not a revolving door of kids who leave before they discover a lifelong passion for the game, or bloom and realize their potential. The idea has always been to provide a safe and enjoyable soccer environment built on respect and positive encouragement from players, coaches, parents, and fans. The concept of the U-12 program was simple and direct: expand the Academy influence to players and the youth soccer cubs at younger ages.

Youth soccer drills for advanced players who are high school or college level. These training sessions and practices are for the U18 age group. Players in their teenage years and secondary school/high school age groups. Training combines various elements of fitness and advanced skill and small groups in these more complex soccer drills. Fitness and conditioning is now integrated more as the physicality of the game starts to increase.
